The movie is called "The Lottery Ticket" which is about a young man in the projects who wins $350 million in the lottery, and then has to keep the ticket safe over a long weekend until he can claim his prize, as his neighbours circle him for a piece of it. No words yet on Teairra's character and what part she will play in the movie. The shooting starts in October in Atlanta and should hopefully be out next year! "At That Point" Tracklisting & Info

What's up everyone? The other day I told you guys that Teairra had a listening session for her upcoming album "At that point" which is now due November 17th. Thanks to DrJays.com we have some information about the tracks that will be featured on the album! Check it out:

“I Know It’s You” (produced by Joachim Bynum)
Teairra says, “My manager originally didn’t like this track. About a year after we recorded it, he heard it somewhere (it leaked somehow) and he called me telling me how much he loved it!”

“Holla” (produced by Rico Love)
A song about female defiance, with lines like “I don’t want you to holla back” and “I’m giving you the deuces baby”.

“Sponsor” (produced by Z. Lewis, B. Muhammed, J. Phillips)
This is Teairra’s 2009 version of Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills”. She explained that her and her girlfriends are all struggling college students and they’re all looking for a “sponsor” to get them through the hard times.

“Cause A Scene” featuring Flo-Rida (produced by The Runners)
An uptempo track that’s all about making noise. “I’m from Detroit, so you know I’m known to cause a scene,” says Teairra.

“Diamonds” featuring Kanye West (produced by Mad Scientist)
With the album’s biggest guest star (who knows the subject matter well), Teairra says this track is “about loving a man as much as I love diamonds”.

“Find My Way Back” (produced by Nephew)
Teairra describes this mid-tempo number: “I don’t want to say I always mess up situations, but sometimes I do, and I mess up good ones. This song is about finding my way back from that.”

“Hunt 4 U” featuring Pleasure P (produced by Rico Love)
“This one is about being in a relationship with someone and they begin to change”, Teairra says. “It’s about hunting for that sweet and humble person they used to be.”

“Automatic” featuring Nicki Minaj (produced by Rico Love)
Nicki Minaj brings the sexy on this high-energy cut that compares the best kind of love with drugs (”I’ll get you higher than a mutha”, Teairra sings). Nicki chimes in with brash lines like, “You know my coochie got ‘em lookin’ like Pookie“.

“Lights Go Down” (produced by Rico Love)
This one is basically a sweet, run-of-the-mill slow jam.

“Might Get Lucky” (produced by Rico Love)
Teairra jokingly describes this track as being all about “If you keep this up…then you might get lucky…get lucky meaning…’Automatic’!”

“Emergency” (produced by Rico Love)
On this cut (one of her favorites) Teairra attempts to capture the classic 1990’s feel of New York R&B (think Total, Faith Evans, etc).

“Operator” (produced by Rico Love)
This is one of the best tracks of the album, with a fun vibe that Teairra describes as being “similar to a 1970’s skate rink party”.

“Built For This” (produced by Oak)
The powerhouse final track that R&B albums are known for. We’ll leave it to Teairra to describe: “As I said, I didn’t think I’d get a second opportunity to record an album but I did – and I’m built for this. I want to show young people that the only person who can stop you is you.”

Sounds like the album will be hot! We can't wait to hear it!

BET Beauty Lounge

Teairra Mari was recently speaking to BET's Beauty Lounge and gave away some beauty tips on how she keeps her hair healthy, what makeup brand she use and how she keeps her body in shape.

"I like organic eye makeup. Sometimes I use MAC, but most of the time, I use bareMinerals® Wearable Eye Makeup Kit in Meet the Stones. It has three different shades of black, and I mix it with this other eye shadow set called Meet the Browns. It’s smoky, but it has a little pop to it with the brown.

Lashes really complete the smoky eye. I use two pairs of lashes, but nothing too dramatic. I start with a pair of thin, spaced-out lashes, then I apply another pair of thin lashes. You can purchase the Ardell brand right at CVS. You don’t have to spend $30 on lashes. You can spend $3.00 to $5.00 and get exactly what you need.

My stylist is a man by the name of Randy Stodghill. He does my hair perfectly! I love a lot of layers and big hair. Lately, I’ve been wearing this shoulder-length hair. He’s very good at keeping my hair healthy. On a daily basis, I use Paul Mitchell Lite Detangler. It’s a spray-in conditioner.

In my purse, I always keep Urban Decay lipstick in Naked. They have such cute lipstick caps!

For my face, I use The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Cream Cleanser and Vitamin E Illuminating Moisturizer Cream. The face wash is not soapy, it’s actually very creamy. My skin consultant advised me that cream-based cleansers are best for people with very dry skin. I also take GNC’s Women’s Ultra Mega® Active Multivitamin. It has everything that a woman needs. It makes me feel very vibrant.

Sometimes I use toe cushions, but most of the time I don’t use anything. I try to keep comfortable heels. I love Gucci and Giuseppe, but the most comfortable would probably be Cesare Paciotti. Even the shoes that look uncomfortable are comfortable.

I do 50 crunches when I wake up and 50 crunches when I go to sleep. I started doing this last year and I’ve been on it! I also always do 45 minutes on the treadmill and I don’t overeat... That's it."

Teairra Mari Bares Her Soul

Teairra Mari opened up to J'Adore Magazine about her situation back in 2005 when she suddenly & unexpected got dropped from Roc-A-Fella records and how she dealt with it. She also speaks about her sophmore album "At that point" and what she's learned through out these past years. It's a really good read so enjoy!

"Everyone’s aware of my situation with Roc-A-Fella. To be honest, the decision for Roc-A-Fella to let me go was business. The first single, “Make Her Feel Good,” was great, but the second single, “No Daddy,” tanked. After the first album flopped, I started going in to work on another album, but the clean up team came in, made some decisions and let me go. I was crying and stressed about it. I was being let go right before prom! I didn’t tell anyone for three months because I wanted to avoid the questions, the comments and the people. I was still young and trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life.

I went into seclusion for a long time, praying, reading, meditating and growing daily. I’ve read so much and enlightening myself about life and how to deal period. Besides the comfort of God, prayer and the blessings within the Bible, two of the most powerful books I read during this time were Eckhart Tolle’s titles The Power of Now and A New Earth. Both books taught me how to become fully engrossed in the present and to not concern myself with things outside my control. I recommend it to anyone seeking inner peace; it will change your outlook on everything.

I took bits and pieces from Tolle, but there are a lot of truths in his work. I learned to control my anger, my attitude and how I allowed others to affect me. I’ve come to realize that you cannot control people; you are who you are and they are who they are. I’m the only one who can please me. I can’t look to be pleased by others. I used to put my happiness in others, but I can’t do that no more. I end up more stressed out and miserable at my own expense.

I used to look at my phone and become upset and depressed because I would think that nobody called or cared for me. I ended up making a decision to turn my phone off for three days in an effort to detach myself from depending on others for company. I left a message on my phone, telling everyone that I was fine, but that I would be taking time for myself and to leave a message for me when I emerged. When I turned my phone on, I realized how many people called, texted and cared, but the exercise showed me that it really wasn’t that serious and that I needed to care for me. I honestly learned to enjoy my own company within that period, something that most people don’t know how to do anymore.

To maintain the positivity, I write inspirational things down and stick them on my wall. I also purchased a ring which has “This too will pass” inscribed on it. I look at it whenever something happens. It’s a reminder that everything will be a part of the past so there’s no need to out about it. God makes a way, and even if He doesn’t, we have to be happy in every situation we’re in. We should choose to be happy about everything because there are just things you have to live with. Why live in misery, stress and sorrow when you can choose to live happily and strive for excellence, ignoring the crap along the way?

Staying positive opens up many doors and possibilities you never knew existed, and it’s all simply from being in euphoria. During this time, I chilled in Detroit for a year when a friend called and told me about Cudda Love, who I’m working with now. I was like, “Damn, word must be getting out about me and I haven’t even spoken to anyone.” I called Cudda, and he stated his interest in working with me. He flew me out to LA and we recorded a few records. I admit that I refused to sign with anybody until I was clear with what direction I was going in; after my last experience, I felt I wanted to leave my options open. Our chemistry was good, so we kept the relationship going and I eventually signed with Interscope and I am currently working on a new album.

Overall, the direction of my upcoming album is more mature; I believe people will be surprised. I’m proud of my growth as an artist and it shows throughout the album. My sophomore effort will feel like the same album from beginning to end. Consistency is present; each track flows smoothly like turning pages in a book. Vocally, I’m doing things I didn’t even know I could do. I’m more experienced now, so I hear the passion and experience in my voice. I won’t pigeonhole myself anymore by defining my music under any certain genre because when you label things, you limit yourself. I’ll just say that I choose to make music from my heart and do what feels good to me.

Additionally, this time around, I build a more intimate relationship with my fans. Previously, nobody knew me as a person or an artist. Now, I want people to know me and really understand me, not just listen to my music. It’s good [as an artist] to let people know I’m human, that I hurt, I feel and I have my ups and downs too.

Overall, through this experience, I‘ve learned to be a better woman and person, and how to be better to people, tempering myself to be solid at all times. I know how to inhale, exhale and keep it moving. I’m on a whole other level mentally. I have no hard feelings against Jay, Rihanna or any member of Roc-A-Fella. I wish everyone the best because they deserve it. We all have our time and I’ve come to realize this.

A few years ago, I was 18 or 19 and ready to give up because of what seemed like a bad situation. I now realize that I have a whole life ahead of me. I might not work a 9-5 but I have to work. No struggles, no progress. I just hope that if you take anything from this, it is that you need to give whatever you’re pursuing your best. Realize that although now isn’t your time, you should be thankful for everything you’re going through. Everything has a reason and a season. I’m just pushing through."
